Job description
This is a great opportunity to join a family-run Tier One civil engineering contractor. The company offers a non-bureaucratic working environment along with the chance to work on larger, more complex, and prestigious civil engineering projects.
As a Sub Agent, you will be working on a major infrastructure-led regeneration project located in central York. The project involves extensive coordination with multiple third parties, including Network Rail.
In this role, you will support the planning and construction of several bridges and reinforced earth structures. This is a highly technical package of works that will include tandem lifts over live rail.

You will be:
- Leading site inductions, toolbox talks, and team briefings on health, safety, and the environment.
- Supporting and guiding junior engineers, making sure work is done to a high standard and properly recorded.
- Preparing and checking Inspection & Test Plans.
- Managing the RFI (Request for Information) process to keep things moving.
- Creating and updating 4-week lookahead programmes and working with the planner to keep the schedule on track.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Hold a relevant qualification in Civil Engineering (HNC, HND, or Degree).
- Have significant site-based experience on civil engineering projects.
- Have experience of working to Network Rail processes and specifications.
- Have a valid CSCS Card and either SSSTS or SMSTS.
