Job description

This is a senior, project-based position. You will be responsible for leading quality assurance across a major heavy civil engineering project. You will report into the Construction Manager and hold line management of a Quality Engineer.


You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Quality Management System which includes the monitoring, maintenance and improvement of policies, plans, procedures and associated documentation. You will be overseeing assurance of supply chain, both subcontractors and manufacturers.


The position will be based mainly in the project office (EC3M), with requirement to spend one to two days a week on site (Essex).


This is a long-term project which will take you through to 2029.


Main Responsibilities:
  • Liaise closely with Employer's Quality leader representative and organize quality events.
  • Advise and guide the Project Management team on quality procedures.
  • Monitor compliance of the QMP with the assistance of the Quality Advisor throughout the project.


To be successful in this post, you will:
  • Ideally be educated to degree level in a construction related subject, such as civil engineering
  • Be a Chartered member of CQI or equivalent body, although this is not essential
  • Hold a valid CSCS Card
  • Hold demonstrable experience of working on large CIVIL ENGINEERING projects (100M+ in value ideally)


In return, you will be offered a salary of 70,000 - 80,000 per annum along with a generous benefits package which includes a car/travel allowance, 5% pension, 25 days holiday, Private Medical Insurance etc.
