BMS Manager

Our client, a leading MEP contractor, is looking for an experienced BMS Manager to take charge of delivering a prestigious £92m commercial shell & core project in Blackfriars. Currently in the pre-construction phase, the project is set for completion by September 2027. As the BMS Manager, you will be pivotal in ensuring the system's seamless integration, driving the project's success and operational efficiency.

They offer both freelance options outside of IR35 (Subject to assesment) and permanent positions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with design teams, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure the BMS aligns with project specifications and operational goals.
  • Review and approve BMS design drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Oversee the installation of all BMS components, ensuring compliance with project schedules and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to maintain smooth workflows on-site.
  • Plan and manage the commissioning process, ensuring all systems are fully functional and integrated with mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues during installation or commissioning phases.
  • Track project progress, report milestones, and provide updates to stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and project-specific guidelines.
  • Oversee final testing, validation, and handover of the BMS, ensuring all documentation and training are completed.
  • Support the client during the post-handover phase to ensure satisfaction and system reliability.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in BMS management, preferably on large commercial projects.
  • Proven track record with Tier 1 contractors or similar high-profile projects.
  • In-depth understanding of BMS systems and platforms (e.g., Siemens, Tridium, or Honeywell).
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, and integration processes.
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate with multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex system challenges.
