Role: Senior Chartered Quantity Surveyor
Location: Leeds, UK

Are you an experienced Cost Manager looking to take the next step in your career?
 
Our client, a build environment consultancy, is looking to appoint a Senior Chartered Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Leeds.
 
We are looking to meet with experienced Cost Manager with previous background in working public and private sector on real estate projects (education, commercial, residential, hospitality, healthcare).
 
 
Your core responsibilities will be:

Cost Planning (including use of Cost Ex) across various RIBA stages including producing preliminary and detailed cost estimates (from feasibility through to detailed design) and advising architects and engineers on the cost implications of different construction methods, alternative choices of materials, reconciling the Cost Plan to ensure the Project remains within budget and lifecycle costing

Pre-Contract services include:
  • Advising on procurement strategy, risk management, and value engineering, as well as contract arrangements and conditions for building construction.
  • Advising customers on tenders, including appraisal of alternative proposals.
  • Preparing tender documents.

Post-Contract services include:
  • Providing advice on contractual issues and procedures, valuing completed work, and approving progress payments.
  • Monitoring design changes and negotiating variations.
  • Managing budget and reporting costs to clients.
  • Negotiating final accounts.
  • Collaborating with team members and mentor graduates.
  • Developing existing and new client relationships.

Essential Skills:
  • Previous experience working on real estate projects.
  • Demonstrating cost modelling skills.
  • Good knowledge of the construction industry.
  • Private and public sector experience working on real estate projects.
  • A RICS accredited degree.
  • RICS with a minimum of three years post qualification experience.
  • Collaborative approach to projects and the ability to delegate tasks to junior staff efficiently.
  • Good communication skills.
  • A flexible attitude and self-motivated.
