Job Title: SHEQ Advisor - MEICA
Location: Remote Occational travel to site
Rate: £370 (Awaiting IR35)
Duration: 4 months +

People Group is looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to work for a leading service provider in the water and wastewater infrastructure sectors in the UK.
Responsibility:
- As a SHEQ Manager you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of legislative compliance and promote continuous improvement of Safety and performance
- You’ll be supporting the Site Teams in identifying solutions and options to overcome issues, delivering Toolbox Talks, safety briefings and wellbeing campaigns.
- You will provide training and advice, encouraging the reporting of near misses through proactive engagement with Operatives and Supervisors. You will also review risk assessments and method statements, verifying temporary works are implemented safely.
- You’ll conduct investigations of incidents and accidents, identifying root cause analysis and recommendations to prevent re-occurrence. Reporting incidents in line with Client and MWS minimum requirements and submit reports within agreed timescales. You’ll also ensure actions from investigations are acted upon and close-out the report in a timely manner.
- Assisting in the identification of safety training needs for site based personnel and bring these to the attention of the Regional Health and Safety Manager. Cooperating with the Health and Safety Executive in connection with their site visits.
- You'll have the opportunity to suggest, communicate and promote initiatives for accident prevention, promoting innovation and different ways of working, together with monitoring compliance with electronic management systems
- Proven experience as a Health and Safety Manager with a background in MEICA
- Experience within the water sector for a Tier 1/2 Contractor
- Hold a relevant EHS Qualification (NEBOSH Construction and/or IOSH)
- Experience reviewing and approving subcontractor RAMS and SOPS and ensuring compliance with AWS standards
