Job description

We have been appointed on behalf of our client to recruit a well-rounded experienced generalist HR Advisor  with experience of working in an SME.

The role is on a hybrid working arrangement with minimum 3 days a week in the  office with occasional travel in UK as & when required.

Responsibilities (not extensive)
  • Dealing with various HR queries throughout the business
  • Acting as the point of contact for line managers & employees
  • Supporting administration of the HR function
  • Supporting monitoring of the shared HR inbox
  • Supporting business change programme consultations where required, owning the processes from beginning to end e.g. TUPE, redundancy, restructure
  • Advising on and owning employee relations cases of all levels of complexity such as conduct, capability, absence management, grievances
  • Training managers on HR processes and holding webinars where required
  • Managing staff relationships, responding to any queries or problems that they have and managing their expectations 
  • Advising managers on recruitment and selection strategies
  • Advising managers on retention strategies
  • Supporting the HR Coordinator in ensuring all employee lifecycle activities are managed efficiently and in accordance with company process (recruitment, starter, leaver, changes etc)  
  • Advise employees and managers on all HR policies
  • Monitoring employee absences, ensuring accurate reporting and management of triggers
  • Producing key metrics for business reports
  • Ensuring HR information is kept up to date on systems

Qualities, skills & experience
  • Organisational and administrative skills 
  • Able to adapt quickly and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Energy industry or similar experience (e.g. construction, maintenance, engineering etc)
  • Ability to work autonomously and use own initiative
  • Experience working in a small team
  • Regional HR Advisor experience
  • Analytical skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Proven work experience as an HR advisor or similar role
  • Ability to advise and work with senior members of staff
  • Hands-on experience with IT programmes (e.g. Excel) and HR systems 
  • Knowledge of employment legislation
  • Personable and approachable with strong communication and relationship building capabilities across all levels of the business
  • Firm when required
  • Driven and determined
  • Practical and logical; able to solve problems quickly
