Job description

We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a growing team within a highly regarded Civil Engineering contractor. The successful candidate will be working on the first phase of a £17m utilities project in South East London and will have the opportunity to step into a leadership role, managing junior team members and overseeing key aspects of the project's commercial activities.

Key responsibilities:
  • Overseeing the change management process and ensuring all variations are properly assessed, valued, and reported.
  • Confidently managing loss and recovery, with a strong focus on ensuring accurate and up-to-date reporting.
  • Assessing and agreeing variations on subcontractor packages, ensuring clarity and compliance with contractual agreements.
This role reports into a Managing Quantity Surveyor and utilises a bespoke form of contract that is largely based on the JCT form of contract.
Reporting into a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of your package management whilst liaising directly with senior stakeholders, providing accurate and clear financial reporting, identifying risks and opportunities.
This is a bespoke contract but is largely based on the JCT form of contract. Prior understanding and use of JCT Contracts would be beneficial.

Skills:
  • Strong experience in Quantity Surveying within a Civil Engineering environment (piping/groundworks/civils).
  • Meticulous attention to detail with strong leadership potential.
This is an exciting role for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to make a real impact on a high-value utilities project in South East London. You will play a key role in a self-delivered scheme, with opportunities to develop your career and progress into higher leadership roles. Our client is committed to providing a supportive and dynamic work environment where your contribution will be valued and recognised.

If you are a process-driven Senior Quantity Surveyor ready to take on project autonomy and leadership responsibilities, this is an excellent opportunity, and we would love to hear from you!
