Position: Setting Out Site Engineer

Location: West London

Work Schedule: Night Shifts

Employment Type: Contract, CIS Payment

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Setting Out Site Engineer to join our dynamic team in West London, focusing on surfacing and asphalt works during night shifts.

Role Overview: As a Setting Out Site Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the successful execution of our surfacing and asphalt projects. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure precise setting out, quality control, and efficient coordination on site during night shifts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform setting out and surveying duties on various surfacing and asphalt projects.
  • Interpret and execute engineering drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Coordinate with site managers, subcontractors, and other team members to ensure accurate implementation.
  • Monitor and report on progress, quality, and compliance with safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise during the construction process.
  • Maintain accurate records, including site diaries, as-built drawings, and progress reports.
  • Ensure all works are carried out to the highest standard within time constraints.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer, particularly in surfacing and asphalt works.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and best practices.
  • Proficiency with setting out equipment such as total stations and GPS.
  • Familiarity with relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and ability to produce and interpret technical drawings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, especially under night shift conditions.
  • Valid CSCS card and relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., HNC, HND, or degree in Civil Engineering or related field).
