Job description

Opportunity to join a major client organisation and contribute to the development, and subsequent delivery, of a major (200M+) project which is currently at RIBA 1 whilst working under the NEC contract form.


As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will initially be focused on procuring and managing Design packages. You will also be heavily involved in developing cost plans and construction estimates. A Main Contractor will be appointed in around 2 years’ time, with construction phase starting in and around 2026/2027.

A snapshot of some of your core responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain project cost plans and cost estimates to support the governance and procurement processes, including the Risk Drawdown process.
  • Manage project budgets, ensuring value for money and validation of costs using appropriate benchmarks. Perform monthly cost reporting, including provision of Anticipated Final Cost, Actual Cost of Work Performed, and Forecast to Completion.
  • Manage the administration of contracts of varying values and complexity, driving compliance and contractual performance including NEC Option A, C and E, Construction Purchase Orders and Design Purchase Orders.
  • Manage all contract communication including creating and distributing action lists, meeting minutes, Early Warnings, Project Managers Instructions and Compensation Events, and accepting/rejecting Contractors Notifications


To be successful in this role you will:
  • Will be educated to HND or Degree level or equivalent in quantity surveying
  • Have demonstrable experience in working as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor on larger projects
  • Have good working knowledge of the NEC form of contract ideally, although JCT would also be fine
  • Be experienced in leading, mentoring and developing teams


On offer is a salary of around 70,000 per annum along with a generous benefits package which includes the bonus, a cash/travel allowance of 4,200 per annum, private medical insurance, rail discount card and an enhanced employer pension contribution.
