Senior Mechanical Designer

One of the UK’s leading M&E subcontractors are looking to expand their internal design team and recruit an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in their Northamptonshire office.
The role focuses on conducting design reviews for mechanical designs submitted by external design partners. Responsibilities include supporting pre-construction activities, such as assisting estimators with mechanical design elements, reviewing PCSA (Pre-Construction Services Agreement) aspects, and managing design partners during the design and modelling process where required. Additionally, the position involves undertaking specific design tasks in line with project and business needs, as well as providing continued support to project teams throughout the design and modelling phases for all mechanical systems.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should possess experience and qualifications in mechanical design for large-scale projects in sectors such as commercial, healthcare, laboratories, leisure, or industrial.
Proficiency in software packages like Autodesk, Cymap, and Bentley is essential. Experience in overseeing CDP (Contractor’s Design Portion) packages, modelling, and specialist systems is advantageous.
The role demands strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems and a desire to enhance that expertise.
