Project Manager / Estimator

Job Title: Project Manager / Estimator
Location: Basildon, Essex

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager / Estimator to join our team at our Basildon office. This role combines the critical responsibilities of pricing and securing projects with overseeing their successful delivery.
You will handle tenders, provide accurate cost estimations, and take ownership of projects from inception through to completion. While not required to be on-site full-time, you will conduct regular site visits (1-2 days a week) and ensure the seamless execution of works.
Key Responsibilities:

• Estimating and Tendering:
  • Analyse project requirements and prepare competitive bids.
  • Price jobs ranging from small works (£50k-£250k) to larger-scale projects (up to £1m).
• Project Management:
  • Lead project delivery with responsibility for total costs of £1m-£2m.
  • Coordinate with site teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Conduct regular site visits and oversee project progress (1-2 days a week).
• Collaboration and Reporting:
  • Participate in weekly team meetings to discuss project updates and challenges.
  • Report directly to the Construction Director with project milestones and performance metrics updates.

Key Requirements:

• 3+ years of proven experience in construction estimating and project management.
• Strong knowledge of pricing and delivering projects within the £50k-£1m range.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teams and build strong client relationships.
