Job description

Enjoy being a small cog in a big machine? Or being micromanaged? What about not having the flexibility to fit work around your family?

Why might you want to consider this position?
  • You'll be on a first-name basis with everyone in the business, including the CEO.
  • The work environment and culture are as far from corporate as you can get (feel free to bring your dog to work!).
  • You'll be in control of your time and schedule, and as you'll be home-based, you'll have a good amount of flexibility.
  • Projects will all be local.

Here's your chance to join an organically growing business with a strong and profitable trading history spanning over 40 years. Revenue currently sits at £45M, and their order book stretches into 2026/2027. They aim to reach £60M in revenue within the next 2-3 years.

As a niche marine/environmental civil contractor, they offer a unique service to clients across the public and private sectors, as well as some high-net-worth individuals. Typically operating as a principal contractor, they deliver projects across frameworks and competitively tendered contracts. They have an excellent reputation, with clients regularly seeking them out.

As Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:
  • Managing the entire project process—from work-winning and acquisition through development, delivery, and finally close-out/handover.
  • Overseeing projects generally below £2M in value, with several running concurrently at various stages. The contract type is usually NEC, though the client base is not adversarial.

To be successful in this position, you will:
  • Hold demonstrable experience in delivering civil engineering projects valued between £500k and £2M.
  • Be educated to HND or Degree (or equivalent) level in Civil Engineering.
  • Ideally have experience with marine or wet civil projects, or strong experience in earthworks, piling, or geotechnical work.
  • Have a clean driving license and be comfortable traveling around the countryside

Your contribution will be recognised, valued, and rewarded. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the wider business, helping with quality and process improvements (if that’s your area of interest).

What's on offer:
A salary between £65,000 and £70,000 per annum, with a car allowance of £8,100 per annum, mileage reimbursement, pension, profit-sharing bonus, and 25 days of holiday that increase with service.

Interested? Please call us at 020 3998 7671 or email a copy of your CV (it doesn't have to be up-to-date), and we’ll get in touch with you.
