Principal Engineer – Drainage and Water (Civils)
Salary: £60,000 - £65,000
Location: Glasgow
Employment Type: Permanent
A leading consultancy with 18 UK offices is expanding its Glasgow-based Water Team and is looking for a Principal Drainage Engineer to support and lead critical projects across property, transport, and energy sectors.

Role Summary
You’ll lead and manage major infrastructure projects, including waterfront developments, road and rail systems, and renewable energy projects. The Water Services team of 25 specialists covers areas such as:
Infrastructure Development: Design of flood protection, drainage, SuDS, and water supply systems.
Watercourse Engineering: River/coastal flood risk assessments and climate resilience.
Dams & Reservoirs: Inspection, design, and support under the Reservoirs Act.
Requirements:
Degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred); CEng with ICE or CIWEM.
8+ years of relevant experience, including client management.
Strong skills in MicroDrainage, Civils3D, and BIM.
Leadership abilities, especially in mentoring and team management.
IEng-qualified candidates with added experience may also apply.
