Location: This position can be run from either North Lincolnshire or North Dublin (with site travel as required)
Salary: up to £95,000 + Benefits

Role Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and strategic Group Head of HSE to take full ownership of the Health, Safety, and Environmental function across the organisation. This role is integral to maintaining a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement, with responsibility for setting HSE strategy, managing compliance frameworks, and leading a high-performing safety team.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Managing Director and play a key role in driving forward organisational wellbeing and sustainability. You’ll lead a company-wide culture shift in HSE awareness and responsibility, while also ensuring compliance with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage HSE policies and procedures across all business functions and locations.
- Provide strategic leadership for the organisation's HSE agenda, ensuring a consistent and proactive approach to safety management.
- Act as the designated Responsible Person for all HSE matters, staying up to date with legal obligations and industry best practice.
- Conduct internal audits, manage risk assessments, and oversee the investigation and reporting of incidents.
- Lead a company-wide programme to instil a culture of safety, ownership, and well-being across all levels of the organisation.
- Design and deliver internal training and coaching sessions to upskill teams and improve risk awareness.
- Support compliance with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards, maintaining documentation, controls, and reporting processes.
- Work in close partnership with HR to support workplace wellbeing initiatives and individual risk assessments.
- Collaborate with managers across all functions to identify risks and ensure ongoing compliance.
- Champion innovation and continuous improvement in HSE performance.
- A minimum of 5 years' recent experience in a senior HSE role, ideally within a manufacturing, construction, or industrial setting.
- Demonstrable experience in implementing cultural change and embedding best practice HSE strategies.
- Strong working knowledge of current HSE legislation, systems, and audit processes.
- Proven ability to lead audits in line with ISO 45001 and manage related action plans.
- Experienced in training, mentoring, and developing teams in safety and risk awareness.
- Confident communicator with excellent leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Familiar with wellbeing initiatives and their integration into a holistic HSE strategy.
- Physically fit and capable of conducting site visits and assessments.
- Strong IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office and HSE management systems.
- Fluent in English (verbal and written).
- Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline.
- IOSH Managing Safely.
- NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent).
- NEBOSH Environmental Diploma (desirable).
- NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent).
- PTTLS or Train the Trainer (preferred).
