Job description
We are working with a privately owned Civil Construction Contractor, with a current headcount of around 240 and projected annual revenue of 180M.
They are recruiting a Design Coordinator to support across a recently secured project located in Holland, with a construction value of €115M. Working as the Principal Contractor on this project, they are responsible for the delivery of the civil, structural, core and envelope works. They are working with a well-known International Technology company.
This is a great time to join a smaller contractor which has ambitious growth plans for their European business. Your contribution will be recognised and valued, and you will be known by name, not payroll number.
As part of the site technical team, you will report into the Technical Manager and join a team of four people. There is excellent camaraderie within the wider site team, and they are highly regarded throughout the business.
You will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the design process, supporting from initial stages through to project completion. You will work closely with the BIM Technicians.

Other key responsibilities will include:
- Manage stakeholders and maintain positive working relations
- Gain a full understanding of the main contract conditions and the general contractor offer document and how these pertain to the complete design process including: Appointment of designers, Notation of designers, Appointment of contractors, Design and/ or CDP responsibilities, BIM & digital delivery responsibilities, Change process and time bars, Submittal and drawing approval responsibilities, Client KPIs relating to design and Client design standards
- Help to coordinate all areas of design on the project including BIM & Digital (Design and Coordination) and Information Management functions.
- Coordinate and work closely with the HSE team to coordinate this across all design functions.
- Monitor and report on design progress against the Design and BIM schedule.
- Support the change process alongside the commercial function, help administer all changes involving design.
- Be aware of all relevant codes and legislation for the project in relation to design.
- Have a relevant understanding of the GC Design Standards / Guides.
To succeed in this role you will most likely:
- Hold a relevant degree qualification in engineering or construction, or hold extensive practical experience
- Ideally have a background in operational roles, for example as a Site Engineer, along with demonstrable experience in working as a Design Coordinator
- Hold right to work in the Netherlands
