CDM Principal Designer

£50,000 - £65,000 per annum

A commercially focused consultancy is looking to strengthen with the addition of a CDM Principal Designer.
 
We are looking for a well-rounded health and safety professional to work in collaboration with the already successful division. The practice offers a wide range of services across the built environment and has multiple experts in cost management, fire safety, building surveying and project management.
 
You the successful CDM Principal Designer will lead multiple projects across a range of sectors including commercial, industrial and retail. The H&S division is currently managing schemes across central London and the surrounding home counties.
 
Ideally you will come from a consultancy background and have strong technical knowledge. As the practice supports developers, architects, financial institutions and tier one contractors it will be advantageous having previous experience in this field.
 
Responsibilities
  • Provide full CDM/Principal Designer services under CDM 2015 regulations
  • Oversee the design risk register and attend design risk reviews, along with offering input in relation to safety in design.
  • Ensure that pre-construction information is readily available for each project and is kept up to date.
  • Preparation of health and safety files and construction phase plans where required.
  • Carry out site inspections and ensure that RAMS are in place.
  • Develop existing client relationships and spot new opportunities
 
CDM Principal Designer
  • Ideally obtain a construction related degree (advantageous)
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (desirable but not required).
  • Membership to IOSH, APS, IIRSM or similar professional body.
  • Excellent understanding of 2015 CDM Regulations.
  • Good understanding of BSA and the changes affecting the industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
