Our client, a privately owned, leading global construction and consultancy firm are looking for an experienced planning lead to work on a large-scale complex construction project.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a Planning Lead to join our consult business. You will harness our unique combination of leading-edge expertise and project delivery consultancy to unlock the potential in every project. You will report directly to the PMO Lead and be responsible for the direction and coordination of all project controls activities within safety, quality, time, and cost milestones for a specific area/scope of work. This role is on a large-scale complex construction project. Knowledge of the construction industry is essential. You will support the development of an overall integrated plan and budget for the project and establish effective and fully transparent reporting and controls across the whole project.

Key Responsibilities:
- Advocate value of safety first and maintain exceptional safety, quality, cost, programme, sustainability, and project compliance standards.
- Lead the delivery of key assignments, providing strategic direction and monitoring aligned with overall vision and objectives.
- Ensure projects and tenders are effectively planned, scheduled, and monitored.
- Manage the planning/scheduling delivery of medium/high complexity projects/programmes.
- Lead and manage a team of professionals delivering planning/schedule management services.
- Support senior management in deal negotiations, contract development, due diligence, and other business development or alliance projects.
- Drive the long-term success of planning performance for specified engines, sectors, or hubs, contributing to broader company goals.
- Demonstrate expertise in planning/scheduling, EVM, and project controls methodologies, and provide advice on complex requirements while communicating analysis and corrective measures effectively.
- Establish effective planning/schedule management systems and procedures and demonstrate expert knowledge of schedule management tools and software.
- Exhibit excellent attention to detail, validating and checking schedule management inputs, records, and reports, while providing basic commentary and analysis.
- Develop internal connections that can aid in identifying and analysing business risks.
- Identify, develop, and coach talented individuals, while selling the business and winning work.
- Experience as a Primavera P6 project planner on large-scale construction projects, ideally for a tier 1 contractor or client-side consultancy.
- A construction-related degree (civil/structural engineering, or construction/project management or equivalent).
- Digitally savvy, with the ability to build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams.
- Experience working on large projects/programmes.
- Background in construction or project management and a drive to grow your career.
- Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen.
- Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams.
- Experience managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
- Knowledge of carbon and sustainability considerations in project management.
