Job description
We have been appointed on behalf of our client, a reputable company in the facilities management sector, to recruit an Account Director to manage a large Public Sector project in South East England.
We are looking for a commercially aware, resilient, collaborative, and strategic individual with a strong background in both, Soft and Hard services, particulary in the public sector.
The Account Director will be responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction to account operation teams. The role will ensure the efficient allocation of resources, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement, and maintaining budgetary control over allocated accounts. Additionally, the role will require close collaboration with sub-contracted service providers to uphold safety and service excellence while building strong, trust-based client relationships and delivering key performance data.

Main Job Responsibilities:
- Service Delivery: Manage internal and external teams to drive continuous improvement and service excellence that surpasses customer expectations.
- Best Practices & Compliance: Enforce company policies and client-specific standards for QSHEW, quality, environmental, and technical regulations.
- Supply Chain Management: Maintain high service standards through effective supplier oversight and performance tracking.
- Crisis & Escalation Management: Serve as the primary escalation point during emergencies, ensuring timely resolution and senior management updates.
- Financial Management: Oversee budgets, ensure accurate financial reporting, and provide key financial insights.
- Risk Management: Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks while optimizing profitability in line with targets.
- Relationship Management: Cultivate strong relationships with clients and internal teams to enhance collaboration and success.
- Strategic & Technical Support: Offer expert guidance on operational and strategic initiatives to customers, peers, and team members.
- Business Development: Identify and capitalize on growth opportunities to drive client expansion and success.
- Public Sector Expertise: Extensive experience working within the public sector, ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements, particularly under NEC4 contracts.
General Responsibilities:
- Provide senior management with insights on potential risks and suggest mitigation strategies.
- Deliver clear, concise reports on personnel, client relations, and financial performance to the line manager.
- Compile and present monthly performance reports to the Client and Sector Director, serving as the primary liaison for all contract-related client engagements.
- Facilitate effective communication by distributing relevant information to customers, peers, and team members while ensuring management remains well-informed.
- Manage personnel effectively, including direct oversight, mentorship, development, coaching, and performance evaluations.
- Support the creation of documents and process-related information for the management team.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new opportunities through networking and professional engagement.
