Job description

A high-profile transportation sector End Client is looking to recruit a Lead Construction Manager for their construction team, which currently has a headcount of 160.

The team is responsible for the development, construction, and handover of all Capital Construction projects, working from RIBA Stage 0 through to RIBA Stage 7—covering the full project lifecycle. Their annual construction spend is approaching £200M.

This rare-to-market opportunity will place you in a key leadership role, responsible for defining and implementing the strategic vision for the construction management team, which currently consists of around 20 people. With planned recruitment, this team is expected to grow. While you will act as the pastoral carer for the team, you will not be responsible for their day-to-day management.

Reporting to the Head of PMO, you will be responsible for establishing and enforcing robust processes and procedures around construction development and delivery, incorporating these into the gateway review process. This could include health & safety improvements or enhancing the constructability review process.

Being client-side means you will enjoy a variety of 'soft' benefits that are uncommon in construction roles. These include set work-from-home days (Monday and Friday), a highly attractive annual bonus (which pays out consistently), and shorter working days, allowing you to achieve that elusive work-life balance.

To be successful in this role, you should have:
  • In-depth knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations within the construction industry.
  • A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering or construction field.
  • Significant experience in construction management on large infrastructure projects within a live environment.
  • Extensive experience in applying construction techniques and managing constructability issues.

You will be offered a salary of around 100,000 per annum along with a generous benefits package which includes a 7,500 cash allowance, 30% bonus, Private Medical Insurance, 6% Pension, free parking, professional subscription, signing on bonus and many others.

If you are interested in hearing more about this position, then please feel free to contact us on 0203 998 7667 and ask for Rob. Alternatively, feel free to apply via the link along with a copy of your CV, which doesn't have to be up to date. We will endeavour to contact all applicants.
