Our client, a leading built environment consultancy, is seeking a Senior Chartered Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Manchester.
You will be joining a vibrant and collaborative team in Manchester office’s cost management division and across our client’s nationwide business, you’ll be encouraged and supported to advance your career. Our client’s projects range from £1 million to £60 million ranging from various sectors including Defence, Healthcare, Education and Manufacturing.
 
Your core responsibilities will be:
  • Leading all elements of cost management from start to finish.
  • Managing multiple projects and/or large-scale projects with key clients.
  • Establishing and managing a high-performing cost management team.
  • Delivering high-level feasibility studies, cost estimates, and cost plans at each stage of the design process.
  • Supporting and supervising the junior member of the team to ensure that the cost management service is efficient and productive.
  • Assisting the senior team with business planning while contributing to gaining repeat business and new clients.
  • Preparing and issuing tender documents.
  • Managing the tender process, evaluating and analysing the tender returns, and providing recommendations to the clients, in addition to providing procurement advice.
  • Analysing the cost of construction designs and alternative proposals to maintain within the project budget.
  • Providing advises on building contract terms.
  • Providing effective post-contract cost control procedures, including determining the effect of changes and analysing and negotiating final account settlements.
  • Developing and maintaining connections with clients and consultants.
 
Essential Skills:
  • Previous experience working on technically complex projects.
  • Collaborative approach to projects and the ability to delegate tasks to junior staff efficiently.
  • Degree in a relevant field (Quantity Surveying or RICS accredited course)
