Position: Project Manager
Rate: Indicative Outside IR35
Location: Birmingham
Start date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 4 months +
Working Arrangements: Hybrid 3 days office & 2 days home
People Group are looking to recruit a Project Manager from a Client Side background to work for a Train Operating Company.

People Group are looking to recruit a Project Manager from a Client Side background to work for a Train Operating Company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage an assigned portfolio of Property Projects and associated team to provide a high level of customer service within budget and aligned to the airport's strategic directio
- Manage teams of both internal and external staff, recruitment, set objectives, review performance and develop staff. Communicate project vision, build and lead teams to perform on major complex projects.
- Manage and contribute to contractual negotiation and administration with major internal or external suppliers
- Responsible to supervise others as necessary in the procurement process for major programmes.
- Manage the full requirements management process and thoroughly examine options during feasibility studies for large complex infrastructure projects.
- Independently leads, develops and maintains work breakdown structures, activity, network, Gantt Charts, resource allocation schedules.
- Manage all aspects of cost plans, estimates, reports, forecasts, and controlling
- Formally manages risks through the use of the WMT Risk Management process.
- Manages all aspects of quality management, ensures quality is implemented throughout and lessons learned are captured.
- Responsible for preparing, maintaining and contributing to Project plans in line with appropriate methodology (APM/PRINCE2)
- Designs, manages and implements governance structures.
- Leads stakeholder management process throughout lifecycle.
- Audits projects against project methodology
- Responsible for organising and producing formal reviews and implementing relevant actions and lessons captured.
- Leads change controls comprehensively to achieve optimum time cost and quality.
- Contribute to business cases.
- Manages all aspects of the monitoring and control processes.
Essentials and Desirables:
- Experience working client side within the rail sector on asset protection projects
- Experience of working in line with Construction Design Management Regulations 2015
- NEC3 / NEC4 working knowledge
- Health and Safety Qualification – IOSH minimum
- A postgraduate University degree in Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, Business or significant operational experience.
- Obtained or working towards EngTech, IEng, CEng or Equivalent.
- A PRINCE2 Practitioner/ APM PMQ qualification or equivalent.
- Attained Level 3 Competency in at least eight of the PMO Competency Categories in the Framework below
