Job Type: Freelance - CIS
Employer: Leading Main Contractor

Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager to oversee a complex commercial refurbishment scheme in Gloucestershire. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a reputable main contractor on a high-profile project involving ground clearance, tree and shrub removal, and groundworks for new bases. The role will involve managing both the project on-site and coordinating with a dedicated Site Manager to ensure timely and efficient delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all aspects of the refurbishment project, from initial ground clearance of trees and shrubs to the groundworks for new foundations and bases.
  • Work closely with the Site Manager to ensure the project is progressing according to plan, on time, and within budget.
  • Monitor site operations, including safety, quality control, and compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Manage project resources, including subcontractors, labour, materials, and equipment.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to provide updates, resolve issues, and ensure all project objectives are met.
  • Control and monitor the project’s schedule, ensuring milestones are achieved and adjusting as necessary.
  • Ensure project documentation is maintained accurately and that reporting requirements are met.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in the construction industry, ideally with complex commercial refurbishment or similar schemes.
  • Strong understanding of groundworks, site preparation, and tree/shrub clearance.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a site-based team.
  • Experience managing a Site Manager or similar supervisory roles on-site.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A relevant construction qualification (e.g., Degree in Construction Management, HNC, or equivalent) is preferred.
If you are an experienced Project Manager with a passion for managing complex construction projects, please apply.
