The role will involve managing both the project on-site and coordinating with a dedicated Site Manager to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the refurbishment project, from initial ground clearance of trees and shrubs to the groundworks for new foundations and bases.
- Work closely with the Site Manager to ensure the project is progressing according to plan, on time, and within budget.
- Monitor site operations, including safety, quality control, and compliance with environmental regulations.
- Manage project resources, including subcontractors, labour, materials, and equipment.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to provide updates, resolve issues, and ensure all project objectives are met.
- Control and monitor the project’s schedule, ensuring milestones are achieved and adjusting as necessary.
- Ensure project documentation is maintained accurately and that reporting requirements are met.
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in the construction industry, ideally with complex commercial refurbishment or similar schemes.
- Strong understanding of groundworks, site preparation, and tree/shrub clearance.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a site-based team.
- Experience managing a Site Manager or similar supervisory roles on-site.
- In-depth knowledge of construction health and safety regulations and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A relevant construction qualification (e.g., Degree in Construction Management, HNC, or equivalent) is preferred.
