Role: Fit-out Site Manager
Type: Freelance.
Start Date: 9/9/24
Location: Hemel Hempstead.
Duration: Ongoing.
Salary/Rate: Up to 320 per day via Ltd Company or PAYE Umbrella, dependent on skills and experience. This role has been deemed to be outside IR35 if necessary, if it passes the IR35 assessment, this will be assessed for each candidate.
 
We are currently in the process of hiring an experienced and highly organised Site Manager to lead and oversee the construction and fit-out of a large-scale data centre in Hemel Hempstead. The successful candidate will be working and reporting directly to the lead Project Manager as well as working closely alongside external client staff, key stakeholders, and the internal team. You will be expected to be fully responsible for the management of specific tasks while on-site,
The work packages you will be responsible for in this role are:
  • CSA
  • Steelwork construction of gantry
  • Plasterboard walls
  • SFS wall system
  • Ceilings
  • Metal doors
  • Cladding alterations
  • Passive
  • Builder work holes

As a Fit-Out Site Manager, your primary roles and responsibilities will include:
  • Project Planning & Execution:
    • Develop and implement detailed project plans, schedules, and methodologies to ensure all construction activities align with the project timeline and objectives.
  • Site Leadership:
    • Provide strong leadership to the on-site team, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and efficiency. Ensure all workers are motivated and directed towards achieving project goals.
  • Health & Safety Management:
    • Enforce strict adherence to Health & Safety regulations, conducting regular site inspections, risk assessments, and ensuring that all safety protocols are followed.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Oversee all aspects of construction quality, ensuring that work meets the required standards and specifications. Address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Resource Management:
    • Manage site resources effectively, including labour, materials, and equipment. Ensure optimal allocation and utilization to prevent delays and minimize costs.
 
  • Issue Resolution:
    • Quickly identify and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise on-site, whether related to personnel, materials, or logistics.
  • Site Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate records of all site activities, including daily logs, reports, and documentation of any incidents or changes to the project scope.
  • Coordination with Logistics Manager:
    • Work closely with the Logistics Manager to ensure the smooth delivery and storage of materials, traffic management, and waste disposal.
  • Final Handover:
    • Oversee the final stages of construction, ensuring a smooth handover process to the client with all necessary documentation, certifications and O&Ms.
Essential Criteria:
  • 3+ years of construction management or professional construction experience.
  • Strong, leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Proven ability to lead large teams and multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • An excellent eye and attention to detail.
  • SMSTS or equivalent Construction Health & Safety Certificate.
  • Must live within a commutable distance of Hemel Hempstead.
