Multi-Skilled Electrical Engineer
Salary: £52,000 Monday to Friday
Location: Oxford

The Multi-Skilled Electrical Engineer is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of electrical systems within the facility. This role requires a broad skill set to manage a variety of systems and ensure optimal performance and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance and Repair: Conduct scheduled and reactive maintenance on electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems.
  • Diagnostics: Troubleshoot electrical issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Installation: Install, commission, and test new electrical systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with specifications and safety standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including service reports and maintenance logs.
  • Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving system performance and reliability, and implement enhancements.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other engineers, technicians, and departments to ensure smooth operations and project completion.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns, minimizing downtime and ensuring a quick return to normal operations.
  • Training and Development: Mentor and train junior engineers and apprentices, sharing knowledge and best practices.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within an industrial, manufacturing, or facilities management environment 
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems.
    • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical faults.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
    • Proficiency in using maintenance management software and tools.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as City & Guilds, NVQ, or similar in electrical engineering.
  • Software: Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards, such as those related to health and safety, environmental compliance, and quality management.
