Position: Earthworks Site Engineer

Location: Watford, UK

Employment Type: Fixed-Term Contract (FTC) until June 2025

Compensation: Outside IR35 or CIS

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Earthworks Site Engineer to join our Tier 1 Joint Venture team working on the prestigious HS2 project. This role is based in Watford and offers a fixed-term contract until June 2025. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in earthworks, setting out, and self-delivery, ensuring that all site operations are executed to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage earthworks operations, ensuring compliance with project specifications and timelines.
  • Conduct precise setting out for earthworks, including the use of GPS and total station equipment.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure seamless site operations.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, addressing any issues or delays promptly.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Manage self-delivery aspects of the project, ensuring efficient resource utilization and cost control.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate site records, including daily reports and site diaries.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in earthworks, with a strong understanding of techniques and best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability in setting out, including the use of modern surveying equipment.
  • Experience in self-delivery on large-scale civil engineering projects.
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Excellent communication and team-working skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions on-site.
  • Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related field are desirable.
