Senior Estimator
Job description
If you're an experienced Civil Engineering or Rail Estimator seeking a truly hybrid position along with a very secure and stable pipeline of future projects, then this could be the position for you.
A Tier One Civil & Rail Contractor wants to add a Senior Estimator to their team, which is currently five strong. This position would be based in central London for 1 - 2 days per week, the rest of your time would be spent working remotley. Your travel into London would be fully expensed. There is a clear progression path to Managing Estimator, offering you the opportunity to lead the team across this long term, collaborative framework.
You will lead in building 'minimum viable product' estimates across a range of asset classes including Earthworks, Buildings and Civils within the Rail sector. To achieve this, you will collaborate with the client, designers, commercial and production teams and a variety of supply chain partners.
To be successful in this position it is thought that you will:
In return, you will be offered a salary of 80,000 - 90,000 per annum along with a generous benefits package which will include a car allowance, annual discretionary bonus, paid Rail travel into London, Private Medical Cover (Single), Holiday, DC Pension and am employee assistance programme.

To be successful in this position it is thought that you will:
- Have demonstrable experience in Estimating and be able to build prices from first principals
- Have strong Civil Engineering and/or Rail sector experience
- Have some form of further qualification in civil engineering, such as an HNC, HND or Degree
- Be familiar in using estimating software, ideally Candy, although training will be provided should you not have this experience
- Be an effective presenter and strong, positive communicator
- Have a broad understanding of conditions of contract, specifications and drawings
