Job description

A very unique opportunity has arisen with a leader in the design and build of clean and waste water infrastructure, seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join the team to accommodate a growing order book.

With the imminent commencement of AMP8, the team are currently completing a series of schemes across the Thames Valley region with the Southern patch ramping up towards the end of 2025. Joining at such a key time in the AMP Cycle as well as a Commercial Team that truly recognises the importance of taking ownership of a project, you will gain remarkable autonomy. Whilst working very closely with relevant site teams and your Commercial Manager, this is a role that allows you to see the project from cradle to grave, ECI through to final accounting, gaining key exposure to client interactions and exercising the full extent of the NEC contract.

Not only does this role offer that freedom and sovereignty, but you will experience organic growth, learning and a clear plan for development through working closely with the Commercial Lead who sits at the forefront of the commercial team, ensuring everyone has access to advancement and the direction to excel.

You will prepare cost estimates and budgets for projects, monitoring project costs and managing the financial reporting. By offering a turnkey service, this contractor self-delivers the majority of their works so site visits are imperative to assess progress and ensure contract management is managed accordingly. Preparing and reviewing tender documents, contracts and variations will be a key part of your role whilst liaising with clients, some small sub-contractors and suppliers.

This is a suitable position for a Quantity Surveyor with between 2-5 years, looking to establish their career and hone their commercial skill with a growing contractor. Ideally, you will have previously worked within a Contractor and self-delivery environment although you will be guided through the nuances of this. You will have demonstrable knowledge of the construction process, cost control and contract management and the ability to work independently and as a part of a small team.

Join this dynamic team and help to deliver exceptional projects changing the UK's water infrastructure with efficiency!
