Join the Hydrogen Revolution! Seeking a Quantity Surveyor Extraordinaire for our Gigafactory Adventure!

I am seeking an experienced and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join a specialist contractor and their dynamic team. You will be a key player in ensuring the financial and contractual success of a large Hydrogen Gigafactory in Royston.

The Gigafactory will initially have the capacity to manufacture 3GW of proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell components annually, playing a crucial role in the advancement of hydrogen vehicles. Moreover, it supports the market expectation that there could be up to three million fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) on the road globally by 2030.

As a Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:
  • Preparing and managing project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
  • Conducting detailed cost planning and control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Liaising with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure efficient cost management.
  • Evaluating and managing risks and opportunities associated with the project.
  • Ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
  • Negotiating and managing contracts with subcontractors on drainage, piping, and earthworks packages.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
  • Experience with NEC option C (Essential).
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost management, and project delivery.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills with the ability to handle difficult conversations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., MS Office, cost management software).
What We Offer:
  • Opportunity to work on a landmark project with a significant environmental impact.
  • A collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Professional development and career progression opportunities.
