Title: EHS Manager
Salary: £59,000 + £5,100 Car Allowance
Location - Shropshire

We're looking for a dynamic EHS Manager to lead our Environmental, Occupational Health Service, and Safety Management Systems. If you have a keen eye for detail and a drive to improve safety standards, this is the perfect role for you.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Implement EHS Safety Management Systems
  • Lead Compliance Efforts with all relevant EHS legislation, including DSEAR & COSHH
  • Enhance HSE Culture by monitoring performance and legal compliance
  • Support Risk Assessments and update safety protocols as needed
  • Audit and Report on EHS Management System effectiveness
  • Mentor and Support managers in HSE management
  • Investigate and Improve after incidents/near misses
  • Regular Inspections and Audits to identify hazards and improvements
  • Occupational Health Surveillance coordination with OH Provider
  • Develop Preventive Programmes and coach regional trainers
  • Liaise with Insurers and Legal on relevant claims and property protection
  • Standardize PPE Programmes to ensure compliance
  • Lead Dangerous Goods Compliance training
What We're Looking For:
Education:
  • Essential: NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
  • Desirable: NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, degree level education
Skills:
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strategic thinking and team player
Knowledge:
  • Comprehensive understanding of HSE legislation and guidance
  • Familiarity with ISO14001 Environmental Management System and OSHAS 18001
  • Knowledge of ATEX environments and DSEAR requirements (Desirable)
Experience:
  • Experience in Chemical manufacturing environments
  • Conducting machinery risk assessments and developing safe working procedures
  • Interpreting data for compliance and writing control procedures
  • Undertaking accident investigations and root cause analysis
