Position: Construction Manager - Multi-discipline (Rail)
Rate: £395 Inside IR35
Location: Birmingham
Duration: 12 months with possible extension
Start date: 1 month
Work Arrangements: 5 days on site (may include nights)

 
People Group are looking to recruit a Construction Manager from a Network Rail background to work for a Leading Rail Consultancy.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring the works are constructed in a safe manner to meet the specified requirements in terms of cost, quality and timescale.
  • Assisting the team in final scoping and procurement of the sub-contract packages.
  • Assisting with defining and scoping of variations to multi disciplinary packages.
  • Providing input into the final selection of subcontractors following the procurement process.
  • Working with the planning and programming team to ensure that the various elements of the works are completed on schedule.
  • Being responsible for the regular planning and production meetings with sub-contractors to monitor progress, planning, labour levels, early warnings and ensure that adequate records are
  • Working with the commercial team to assist with administering the sub-contract and providing input for valuation purposes.
  • Assisting with the running of progress Meetings with sub-contractors.
  • Reviewing method statements, ITPs, construction processes, engineering specifications, set out and measurements and quality control, certificate and compliance. Providing input into pre-planning to develop schedules of these documents ahead of their production.
  • Complying with the requirements of Maces health, safety and workforce management plan.
  • Assisting to ensure that the information required to collate the project health and safety file is included in the CDM register.
  • Assisting in the carrying out of investigations with appropriate personnel into accidents or incidents that occur on site to allow findings and recommendations to be reported to the project director.
  • Ensuring that sub-contractors provide competent personnel in line with the works being carried out on site.
 
To be successful in this position, we’re looking for some who has;
  • A minimum of HNC, although a Degree would be preferable (or equivalent)
  • Must have an in date PTS card
  • CSCS Card and SMSTS
  • Have prior experience overseeing sub contractors
  • Worked for a Rail Client
