Job description

Title: Building Surveyor 
Location: Reigate
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 plus £6,000 car allowance

As the Senior Building Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing feasibility studies and designing solutions for building maintenance and minor projects across the Client's estate, ensuring smooth execution. Key responsibilities include:
 
Responsibilities:
  • Conducting feasibility studies and making recommendations.
  • Scoping, estimating, and presenting detailed reports.
  • Performing surveys, designing specifications, and ensuring compliance with asbestos, health, safety, and legislative standards.
  • Optimizing budgets and resources to enhance the Client's portfolio value.
  • Leading project assignments and supervising team activities.
  • Ensuring adherence to NEC and JCT contract terms and fulfilling related duties.
  • Cultivating strong relationships within the design team and across Maintenance disciplines.
  • Effectively communicating technical information to diverse stakeholders.
  • Implementing and improving systems to manage delivery standards, budgets, programming forecasts, and planning processes.
  • Taking personal ownership of service delivery and liaising with clients and consultants throughout project phases.
  • Inputting key project data and insights into the internal database.
  • Supporting the adoption of new technology for data capture and reporting.
  • Collaborating within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
 
Qualifications:
  • Degree/HNC or equivalent, or significant relevant experience in a related field.
  • Possibly required by law to maintain a professional qualification or competency.
  • Minimum HNC/HND or degree level education, ideally progressing towards CIOB or RICS membership.
 
Relevant Background:
  • At least 5 years of pertinent industry experience.
  • Thorough understanding of technical principles and practices.
  • Proven application of project management techniques across complex projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of business planning and financial management principles.
  • Ability to gather, monitor, and interpret various forms of data.
  • Demonstrated success in building effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in computerized business systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
  • Excellent management capabilities, including staff motivation, coaching, mentoring, and development.
  • Problem-solving acumen with a track record of innovative solutions.
